Disagreement between state machine composition hierarchiy and State chart diagrams

Postby David Glaser » Tue Jan 23, 2007 12:50 pm

Hello,

I ran across an interesting problem when using the OpenAPI with MD 11.6.

I have cases where the composition hierarchy of a state machine does not
agree with the state chart diagram.

For example, I ran across the problem where I have a simple state, say
A, that belongs to a composite state C1. However, in the state chart, A
is diagrammed as belonging to a different composite state, say C2.

If I drag A to a different spot on the diagram and then drag it into C2,
the composition hierarchy is fixed.

What I would like to know is if there is a tool that will compare the
state chart hierarchy with the composition hierarchy and flag the
discrepancies.

Hello David,

Unfortunately there is no such tool, but I think it should be possible to do such checking using OpenAPI.
