Install on Linux Fails

Postby Michael Sherman » Sun Jan 21, 2001 1:44 pm

I can't get the installation program to fireup on my RedHat 7.0 Linux
box. I have SunSoft JDK1.3 installed.

Error:

> ./MD40beta2_Unix.bin
> Preparing to install...
> Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
com/zerog/lax/LAX

any help would be appreciated.
Thx.

Hello,

Please try to set environment variable LAX_DEBUG typing: export LAX_DEBUG=1.
Then try to run installation again, capture console output and send to us.

Regards

Hello,

Could you try to run installation with IBM JVM ?
I have tested installation with IBM JVM 1.3 and Blackdown JVM 1.3.

Also i recommend to install updates for glibc, you can find it in Red Hat web page.

Re: Install on Linux Fails

Hello,

I downloaded and installed the IBM JVM 1.3. I ran it in debug mode to verify that it
pickedup the correct JVM from my machine (via putting IBM JVM first in my path and
redefining my JAVA_HOME). However, still the same problem persisted. Is the product
certified for RedHat? Also, is there anyway that I can just get the binaries in a
compressed format? FTP site? It looks like you are using InstallAnywhere, or
something like that. I know that some of those auto-install software programs have had
problems on linux in the past.

Thx.
Michael

Hello,

You can download no install version of MagicDraw (zip archive).
After extracting you should modify startup script.
