Interop not finding running instance of RHhpsody

Postby douglas.w.orellana@saic.com » Tue Nov 26, 2019 11:57 am

I am trying to convert a Cameo model to a rhapsody model. After slecting the mdzip file I want converted and select next I am getting "An error occurred. See error log for more details. java.lang.NullPointerException" and then I see "A Rhapsody application instance must be running first in order to perform this operation." I actually have Rhapsody running with a project opened. I had Rhapsody and Cameo up and running before opening Interop. I am using Cameo 19.0 sp2 64bit, Rhpasody 8.3.1 64 bit, and Cameo Interop 19.0 sp1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Douglas,
Can you send the cameo interop log file (%USER_FOLDER%\.cameo_interop\.metadata\.log)?
Also, what is your version of java installed (32bits or 64bits ?)

Regards,
Adrian

I should have Java 64 bits installed. Thanks.

Hi Douglas,
First, you'll need to confirm that it's indeed 64-bit, please run a command line "java -version" and post it here, please so we can see the build version too.
As for the logs, it confirms that Cameo Inter-Op can't connect to Rhapsody so this could be caused by the JVM version.

Kind regards

Hi Douglas,
When I run the same command it specifically mentions 64-Bit which leads me to think you don't have the 64-bit JVM:

java version "1.8.0_191"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_191-b12)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.191-b12, mixed mode)

How to download a 64-bit JVM?

When you go to Oracle JDK download page(https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java ... 33151.html), you will see options to download JDK specific to your operating system:
Here choose Windows x64 to download 64-bit JVM.
