Keyboard shortcuts to switch tabs in tabbed dialog boxes

Postby Milo Chan » Thu Sep 27, 2001 9:17 am

Is there any way to configure MD to use a keyboard sequence (e.g. CTRL-TAB
and SHIFT-CTRL-TAB, in standard Windows apps) to switch tabs in tabbed pane
dialogs?

For example: create a new Class in a Class Diagram, select it and press
ENTER to display the Class Specification dialog, which has 8 tabbed panes.
I would like to switch to (i.e. display) the Attributes tab by using the
keyboard, instead of clicking on the tab with the mouse.

Hi,

Unfortunately your can not configure such actions. There is no shortcut for
navigation among tabbed panes.

I think there are now currently keyboard shortcuts to switch tabs. In version 18 under the View menu, there are commands for "Go To Previous Tab" and "Go To Next Tab". The default shortcut is [Shift] + [Left] and [Shift] + [Right] respectivly. However when going to Options > Environment > Keyboard, there doesn't seem to be a way to change this shortcut to use the [Tab] key (such as [Ctrl] + [Tab] similar to internet browsers) since whenever I press [Tab], it goes to the next button in the dialog instead of recognizing that key as a shortcut. Also it would be nice if there was a command to go to the next tab in sequence that they are shown above the diagram, instead of the sequence that they were last viewed. Another thing is that once you get to the last tab viewed, it won't do anything, so you have to go back the opposite way by pressing the other shortcut.
