latin1 encoding with EPS export

Postby Johan CARDON » Fri Mar 22, 2002 4:46 am

Hi,

I'm using MD5.1 Demo version.
When I export My diagram (an use case in exemple) in .EPS format I'm not
able to see accentuated characters in ghostview.

I have two solutions :
- export to JPEG format and use jpeg2ps, but it seems that there is always
the grid in my jpeg file and the JPEG compression scratch the file. (the
grid is only visible when I print my document).
- modify my EPS file by hand to incorporate latin1 encoding (see sample
UseCaselatin1.eps). (It's better in a latex document and the grid is not
present in EPS file)

I'm not an PS gourou but i've found an example which works in my case.
It reencodes the font with good characters (see beetwen %BEGIN LATIN and
%END LATIN1). Then, you just have to use this new font in the file
(Exécuter scénario in my case).

Can you think about french developers in a futur release ?

IMHO MagicDraw is the the better UML drawing tools I've seen for the moment
but I haven't tested the code generation yet.

Thanks.

Hi Johan,

Thanks for your remarks and suggestion.
We will try to improve EPS export in 5.5 release.
