MagicDraw - Attributes usage matrix

Postby Hellin_T » Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:16 am

Good afternoon,

When we are drawing Class Diagrams, we have first to define our classes with their attributes. After you use these classes within your class diagrams. All attributes are not always needed within a class diagram and so, you edit the compartment to hide the useless attributes.

Later, if you need to add one or several attributes to one class, they are by default made visible in all the class diagrams who are using this class... and you have to take a look in all these class diagrams to hide the useless attributes.

It could be useful to have within the class specification pop-up a "attributes usage matrix" who will be a central place to directly hide/unhide the attributes from a class within a class diagram where this class is used.

In columns we would find the attributes of this class
In rows we would find the class diagrams where this class is used

Have a nice day

Thibaut

Each time an attribute should be shown in a class diagram, user would have to place a "x" in the matrix table (see example in attachment).
So every added attribute could be easily updated in all class diagrams
