MD4 on MacOS X

Postby Gavin Kistner » Sun Mar 04, 2001 11:32 pm

I'm running MacOS X 4k73--has anyone gotten the MagicDraw 4.0 demo working
on OSX? If so, could you please post details of what to do after
downloading and unzipping the no-install demo?

TIA,

Hello Gavin,

There is file named "run.sh" in MagicDraw install root "bin" directory.
You should specify there JAVA_HOME (path to java.exe) and MD_HOME (path to
MagicDraw install root) variables in order to launch application.

Best regards,

Hello Gavin,

I forgot to mention that file "run.sh" can be launched from Mac OS X
terminal window.
If you have any further questions or suggestions, feel free to contact us.

Thanks, I tried that and it didn't work. Perhaps I didn't specify the
correct JAVA_HOME environment variable. Next time I reboot into OSX I'll
tell you what it says.

FYI, MacOS X is not a windows flavor, and as such does not have any .exe
files.

The key gotcha is that Java's home under Mac OS X is nowhere near
where anyone familiar with Linux or BSD would expect it to be.

The correct path (at least on Public Beta 1) is:

/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.2
