Multiple Blocks with States, States of Subparts and Simulati

I have a simulation problem with multiple blocks have their individual behavior diagrams.
My project file has a system with many parts and even sub sub parts. Most of the time those parts are some other blocks and they have their own state machines. But above it, If I want to define a detailed behavior for the system, lets say states for the system, the STM of parts (or sub sub parts) get in the way.
What is the best way to define such a system's behavior? I have tried many alternatives.

By the way, If I drag and drop an Activity on a State as a "do behavior" Cameo creates a new Activity and Activity diagram, then places a call behavior that calls the activity that I intend to place. As a result, I have couple of layer of nested activities and, in time line chart, I can not see the deeper levels. Sometimes I receive the deeper activity levels/names. But I have not figure it out yet.
