Physical model PK related topic

Postby bejab » Sun Jul 18, 2010 2:14 pm

Hi there!

I use Oracle DLL Diagram. It would be nice if we could design composed primary key in Cameo DM.
I know a possible workaround, but I cannot add it directly. I need this function when designing intersection entity or table.

Thanks

Hello,

if I understand correctly you want to create composed (composite) primary key. You can do it by creating operation in your table (as table is UML Class element), applying <<PK>> stereotype and creating operation parameters for every column you want to have as part of primary key. Please note that names of parameters must be same as names of columns you want to have in primary key.
For example: you have table Student with columns Name and Surname. You have to create operation like this: <<PK>> pk(Name, Surname) where 'pk' is name of primary key that can be any valid string.
