Cameo Inter Op

Postby betunia_2014 » Tue May 05, 2015 9:10 am

Hi,

I'm trying to convert a model from Rational Rhapsody version 8.1.1 into Magic Draw using a trail version of Cameo Inter Op version 18.1.
From Cameo Inter Op, I select Import into MagicDraw, Rhapsody to MagicDraw.
It asks me for the location of the installation of Rhapsody, which I pointed to, then it asks for a rhapsody.jar file which I don't have on my computer.
Are the two versions that I'm using not compatible? How can I get the rhapsody.jar file? I searched all the drives on my computer and I cannot find this file.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,
It depends on your type of installation (32bits or 64bits), but the rhapsody.jar (for 64bits) file is under %USER%\IBM\Rational\Rhapsody\8.1x64\Share\JavaAPI.
You must also know that there are compatibility issues between Cameo and Rhapsody.
If you have a Rhapsody 64bits, you have to use Cameo 64bits and java 64bits.
You said that it ask for the location of the installation of Rhapsody, which Rhapsody path did you set ?

Valery

Hi,

I installed Rhapsody on my D drive, but was able to find the .jar in %USER%\IBM\Rational\Rhapsody\8.1.1\Share\JavaAPI
My system is running on 64 bits and I have Cameo 64 bits, but the rhapsody version is 32 bit I believe. I couldn't find a 64 bit version to download on the IBM site.
I copied the .jar file into my D drive where Rhapsody is installed but now the message that I'm getting is "Rhapsody location different from Active Rhapsody"
So I think I might have a compatibility issue, it's not detecting Active Rhapsody

Hello,
You clearly need to have Rhp + Cameo + Java on 64bits OR Rhp + Cameo + Java on 32 bits.
You say "but the rhapsody version is 32 bit I believe". Can you confirm that you are running Rhp 32 bits ?
If yes, can you install Cameo 32bits + java 32bits instead of installing Rhp 64bits ?
You might need to change the jvm version used in order to run Cameo Inter-Op...
Please let me know if you need assistance of this.
Best Regards,
Valery
