Structured Valuetypes

Postby john.erickson@ngc.com » Fri Jun 17, 2016 2:04 pm

I am building a model that contains several structured value types that I want to use in some parametric analyses. The structured value types show up in the parametric diagrams; however, they do not show up in the ParaMagic browser. I've attached an image that illustrates this.

In the example I am using a structured value type given in the SysML library for a complex number. The valuetype then has two properties, one for the real part and one for the imaginary part. I want to calculate the magnitude of the complex number and so I created a parametric diagram showing the constraint between the magnitude and the complex number. I then created an instance specification and assigned values; however, when opening the browser for the instance the valueProperty for the complex number does not appear.

It appears that ParaMagic does not support structured value types. Please tell me this is not the case!!

My apologies for the late response, and I am sorry to disappoint you. Unfortunately at this time ParaMagic does not support Complex value types. Section 6.4 of the user guide indicates that currently ParaMagic only supports value properties typed by SysML Real (or its subtype), SysML Integer (or its subtype), or value types with quantityKind field populated from the SI ValueType Library. I will check with the development team to see if/when this functionality may be incorporated, and whether there are any known workarounds.

Regards,
Rose

Thank you for your reply.

Please let me know what the development team says. It would be great if future versions would support structured valuetypes.
