Nested Requirement Import with Excel

Postby MBSEUSER17 » Fri Apr 28, 2017 11:12 am

Is there a way to use the Excel or CSV Import plugin to import nested requirements derived from their requirement ID, rather than using the requirement table "Nest/Un-nest" function? For example:

Import Data is

ID Name Text
1.1 Requirement Req Text
1.1.1 Nested Requirement Nested Requirement Text

Result is:

Dear MBSEUSER17,

You can use CSV Import plugin to import the nested requirements. You will need one more column to specify the parent of the nested element. You may use ID or the name.

Here's the sample data.

And you can get the result like this.

From your result, the ID numbers are arbitrarily chosen by the software. How do you get the appropriate ID designations in the CSV import?
