Setting IBD Values

Postby dwood@harris.com » Mon Oct 09, 2017 6:53 am

Good Morning All

We have a part with a value property (actually several, all strings)
In our IBD I would like to assign unique values to these strings from each instances (i.e.: each server gets a unique IP address and DNS name)

This seem like a common thing to want to do but I can’t seem to figure out how to do this

Hello,

You could define *Default Value* for your Value Properties. It represents the value assigned to the value property when an instance specification of this block is created.

I'd like to emphasize, that IBD represents internal connections between blocks, not their instances. For the managing values for value properties, you should use Instance Specifications. Please take a look at the following resources:
- https://docs.nomagic.com/display/MD185/ ... cification
- https://docs.nomagic.com/display/MD185/Instance+table
- https://docs.nomagic.com/display/SYSMLP ... ern+Wizard

Have a nice day,
