Concept Modeller - Import dcterms error

Postby james.ciarcia@navy.mil » Fri Oct 20, 2017 2:49 pm

Using Magic Draw 18.5 Sp2 with CCM_180_SP10_C12, built 2017-07-23

I get the following error when I try to import the dcterms ontology from http://purl.org/dc/terms/:

so after a little poking around I think the issue is that the dcterms file, and a couple others from /dc/ namespace are in turtle, and not rdf/xml. I'll covert over to rdf/xml, or try to GET accept-response with url to download it in rdf/xml and then try to import it and post back if that works.

Concept Modeller suggestion: be able to import turtle files as well, most common semantic web component libraries should already have turtle parsing as default, not sure why CCM can't import. As well as N-triples, ect...

https://jena.apache.org/documentation/io/ shows all supported file types that are "equivalent" semantically...

Thank you for using CCM. It is built using OWLAPI library that inherently supports turtle file format along with RDF/XML, OWL functional etc. Can you please elaborate how you were trying to import the dcterms ontology?

I was using the File->Import From->OWL Ontology File...

I had downloaded the dcterms from the url linked previously.

On a hunch, I added the .ttl extention to the otherwise bare file name, but that import still fails.

I then convertered the .ttl file to .rdf using rdf2rdf jar and then CEA deadlocked. Hitting cancel operation did not change it's stated, and I needed to close out.

I now think maybe I have to define an xml catalog file? I was able to import the SKOS ontology without one though....

So I created a local catalog file (see attached) and reference it from within the project per section 5.5 of the SP9 CCM Documentation.

This still resulted in the same error as originally seen. All 3 files return the same error:

ERROR [com.nomagic.conceptmodeler.ui.k:209] - Import failed due to the following error: 'No value present'

The following file imported just fine:

with only the following warning:

However, I have previously imported 'http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema' successfully as well with similar warnings, but no errors.
