Report Wizard - Building docx files with images

Postby ilan.sklar@gtri.gatech.edu » Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:58 am

I have a Cameo project (18.4) with a bunch of images in Free Form Diagrams. When I try to use the Report Wizard to generate a docx report, the images/diagrams are not exported.

It seems the diagrams are only exported when I do a Web Report or the PowerPoint presentation. Whatsup?

Also, on this website, I'd prefer to not have my work email displayed on the website, I'd rather have my name displayed as I post. Is there a way to change this?

Thanks!

Hello,

Please accept our apology, we are sorry for your inconvenience.
Unfortunately, we still could not reproduce the issue.
What is your template? Is it our built-in Report Wizard template?
Could you please share us your Free Form diagram or sample project?
Could you please share us your generated report? We would like to see your actual result, compare with expected result.

For the account question, our administrator would explain you the solution later.

Best regards,

No need to apologize, probably something I'm doing wrong.

I've tried several docx templates, but none worked. Is there a specific docx template I should be using to export Free Form Diagrams?

Hello,

There is no specific template for exporting the Free Form diagrams.
The code is very simple for exporting diagrams in the template
Code: Select all
#foreach($d in $Diagram)
$d.name :: $d.diagramType
$d.image
-----------
#end

Could you please tell us which templates that you used?

By the way, please try to generate the report with the attached DOCX template and let us know whether the diagram images are printed or not.
template.docx

If they still could not print to the report, please go to "File > Save As Image..." menu.
Then, select all diagrams or select only Free Form diagrams in the "Selected diagrams" option, and click "Save" button, and let us know the result.

Best regards,
Sarawut

Thanks! That works, however, the diagrams are exported into the report in seemingly random order. I would like them to be exported in a certain order so I don't have to rearrange them. Do you know how it determines the order in which they are exported? It doesn't seem to be by folder structure.

Hello,

You could order the elements by using $sorter.
https://docs.nomagic.com/display/MD184/%24sorter

For example, I would like to order the packages and print their inner diagrams, see the sample code:
Code: Select all
#foreach($p in $sorter.sort($Package))
   $p.name
   #foreach($d in $sorter.sort($p.ownedDiagram))
      $d.name
      $d.image

   #end

#end

Best regards,
