UseCase diagram System Boundary?

Postby rferguso » Thu Nov 30, 2017 9:49 am

I am running MagicDraw 18.4 and can't find the System Boundary element in the SysML use case diagram palette.. I know it was here in earlier versions but I can't find where it was moved.. any ideas? Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for your question. The System Boundary element was removed from the Use Case diagram pallet since 18.2 version. One of the reasons we implemented this is to improve support of the Use Case Subject. When use cases are nested in System Boundary, value of use case "Subject" property is not set automatically. Moreover, System Boundary owns these use cases and that is not always desirable behavior. Because of these reasons we suggest using Subsystem (which is placed on Use Case Diagram pallet) instead of System Boundary.

Note: you can still use System Boundary by creating a model element and applying <<useCaseModel>> stereotype for it.

If you have any other questions or encounter any other problems, please feel free to contact us for further assistance.
