Modelling a Conduit

Postby thomas.b.davis@lmco.com » Wed Mar 14, 2018 10:09 pm

I've currently got a situation where I wish to model a cable that runs through a conduit. For specific reasons I want to include both the cable and the conduit as part of my model, and show that they have a dependence on one another. I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on how best to achieve this withing the bounds of SysML?

Regards,

Tom

Hello,

One of the possible variants would be using nested ports. E.g. Full port of Conduit can have nested ports of Pins as shown in the image below:

One note: SysML does not specify geometrical specification of a system so you are not forced to use nested ports. An alternative way would be modeling separate Ports and Connectors and linking them (e.g. with Dependency relationship).
