Paste DSL Elements into Generic Table

Postby james.towers@object-flow.com » Wed May 02, 2018 12:24 pm

Hi,
I want to paste elements with a custom stereotype into a Generic Table. I have created a profile with a custom stereotype "MyStereotype" (which extends the UML Class) and I can use this as expected. The stereotype has a number of defined tagged values.

If I make the Stereotype the 'Element Type' of a Generic Table then I am able to add the tagged values as columns.

If I then try to cut-and-paste elements from an Excel spreadsheet into this table then the software (CSM) creates UML Classes in the browser which don't appear in the table as they don't have the "MyStereotype" stereotype. Also since the tags are not defined for the UML Class, none of those are populated

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to somehow (using a customization?) set the MetaType of the Stereotype?

Thanks
James

Hello,

Yes, this copy/paste should work as expected, I've checked this use case with the 18.5 version.
You should set Element Type to your new stereotype. Please see image below:

Also, I've attached sample:
