Using custom tags for rows in a matrix

Postby scott.tarmey@gd-ms.com » Wed May 30, 2018 5:43 am

I have imported a bunch of requirements from a DOORs DB using DataHub. Each requirement used an extension of the extended requirement block so that I could add some custom tags to each upon import. One of the custom DOORs attributes is a Function Allocation that lists the function in the model that fulfills the requirement. I need to establish the satisfy relationships between the imported requirements and the functions listed in the model.

A matrix would be the quickest way to establish these relationships but I cant figure out how to show the custom tag "function allocation" as the row name in the matrix. I can get the requirements listed but it just will show their name. I have all the functions as columns so if I get the function allocation as rows putting the arrows into the intersections will be trivial.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
Scott

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

If I clearly understood your need, you want a quick way to introduce the relationship between requirement and function. For this, I can suggest you create the dependency matrix by showing requirements as rows and functions as columns. Set the dependency criteria to the custom tag "function allocation" - you can select it from Simple Navigation operation.

See the attached sample project below.

Thank you for the response but your suggested solution does not produce the matrix I would like.

In my imported requirements there is an attribute from DOORs for each requirement that lists the function/s that satisfies the requirement. I have set up a profile that during DataHub sync the function listed in the DOORs attribute maps to a tag value in the created requirement within MagicDraw.

I would like to have the matrix list the tag value (function) of each requirement vice the requirement name. I am dealing with 200+ requirements and 75+ functions, looking at the tag values for each requirement will be very time consuming.

If it is not possible to populate the rows of a matrix with the value of a tag please let me know.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your additional details.

Unfortunately, there is no possibility to show tag value as representation name of row element in Matrix.

If you have any other questions or concerns - feel free to contact us.
