Using the Desired Effect Connection

Postby » Tue Aug 21, 2018 4:30 pm

Hi All,

I'm new to MagicDraw. I'm trying to recreate a CV-1 (DODAF 2.0) using the UAF plugin. I am trying to make a "Desired Effect" association from an Enterprise Vision to an Enterprise Goal block. Is this doable?
I was able to change the applied stereotype for the Enterprise Vision block to include a capability thus allowing a one point "Desired Effect" connection. I am not, however, able to change the applied stereotype of the Enterprise Goal block to anything allowable.

Hello, thank you for the question.

According UAF standard specification:
A dependency relationship relating the Desirer (a Capability or OrganizationalResource) to an ActualState.
Abstract element used to group architecture elements that might desire a particular effect.
Actual State
Abstract element that applies temporal extent to a set of elements realized as Instance Specifications.

Please find below the image, where legal elements of the Desired Effect Dependency ends are listed:
One end - <<Desirer>> and another end is <<Actual State>>

If you have more questions or concerns, feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,
