Modeling activity edges with «rate» and distributions

Two questions--

«rate» seem like is has a simple definition, but I'm not wrapping my head around how to apply it to activity edges (e.g., «objectFlow»). The stereotype's rate property should hold an instance, but creation mode also allows Unit and QuantityKind blocks, which are definitions, not instances. What's going on here, and what am I missing?

Second question--

The rate property says it should allow a «distributionDefinition», and this makes sense too, as modeling stochastic processes is useful. However, there's no such stereotype in NM's SysML library. There's a «distributionProperty», but that's applicable only to value properties. I can create a block, a value prop, and set any of the distribution stereotypes on it, but not on value types (which can't have value properties)--so I can't assign such blocks to rates either.

Any help would be appreciated.
