Boolean with Parametric Equation Wizard

Postby paul.lotz.pl@gmail.com » Tue Oct 08, 2019 10:54 am

In the Parametric Equation Wizard, if one enters something of the form expression = true or expression = false, and click 'Parse and Map' the parser interprets true or false to Real and does not correct this even after mapping to a value. There does not appear to be a way to change this manually within the wizard.

Is there any way to get the parser to interpret true or false as Boolean (or as anything other than Real)?

Note: I found it is possible to change the type after the fact on the generated parametric diagram.

So I did find a way to do this using value types and constraints (without parametric diagrams, which seem silly for this use case) that is reasonably effective but has two significant limitations due to the lack of direct links:
1) Checks for completeness are manual.
2) Constraint syntax is manual. (By the same token, changing the name of a value type will not update the constraint syntax.)
These are quite significant limitations but I compromised to deliver a product for the moment.

Better solutions are not only desired but probably necessary!
