Tag Direction on Ports

Postby ralf.seibert@bmw.de » Tue Feb 18, 2020 1:53 am

Hi community,

I am struggeling on creating a stereotype and customization for a port with direction. It should work similarily as the Flow Port. But as the Flow Port is deprecated and will vanish soon, I don't want to create a stereotype on the Flow Port but on the simple UML Port.
So I created more or less a copy of what I found in the SYS-ML definiton of the Flow Port (Stereotype and Customization). I have the attribute "direction" of type "FlowDirection" with the expected values as dropdown but I never get the arrow on the shape in the the diagram. I also set the symbol Property "Display Port Direction" to true, but that does not help. No arrow shown.
Next thing I tried was to make it as the Proxy Port (so not defining the tag in the stereotype but defining a meta type in the customization). That also did not work. No arrow shown.

So what am I doing wrong? Am I thinking too simple, that the Tag "direction" is enough to cause Magicdraw to display an arrow on the port? What is missing?

thanks for helping...

kind regards
Ralf
