Install in Linux fails.

Postby Steve Isaacs » Mon Apr 24, 2000 2:24 pm

I'm attempting to install as root under Linux but the install hangs.
Ctrl-C returns to the prompt.

In a console window I enter:

./MD351ProDemo_Unix.bin

After a couple of seconds I'm presented with the options:

1. /usr/lib/java/bin/java
2. /usr/lib/java/bin/jre
3. Exit

When I select either 1 or 2 the disk light flashes for 3 or 4 seconds
and then the install hangs. Ctrl-C returns to the command prompt.

I'm running S.u.S.E 6.1 Linux and have installed JDK 1.1.7.

Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks,
Steve

Hello Steve,
Check enviroment variables, that can affect your JDK.
CLASSPATH should point only to your JDK classes.zip and current
dirrectory.
Also unset JAVA_HOME enviroment variable.
