Support of UML-Modelelement: Method

Postby Dominik Froehlich » Thu Jul 25, 2002 12:52 am

Hi,

I'd like to suggest a feature that I consider to be very helpful for the
detailed behavioral design and implementation processes.

In MD behavior is described in MD with statemachines and activity diagrams. This is
appropriate for some problems, for others this kind of behavioral
description is quite artificial.

For such cases the UML provides the model element Method which can be
assigned to Operations. A UML (1.4)-method only contains a
ProcedureExpression, which is hardly more than a character string.
To overcome this problem, we are currenty using the documentation facility
of operations, which is a bad place :-(.

It'd be nice to have Method support in a future version of MD.

Regards

Dominik
