Issue with Oracle object data types generation

Postby mikeb1110 » Thu Mar 28, 2013 9:35 am

Hello,

MagicDraw does not generate DDL code with primitive Oracle data types when complex <<datatype>> stereotype is defined in LDM.

Instead, it generates object columns:

CREATE TABLE test_complex
(
complexID complexDataIdentifier PRIMARY KEY
createdDt Date,
amount int,

);

That, by itself, is OK, but I would expect MagicDraw to generate DDL that also defines those object data types.
For example:

CREATE TYPE complexDataIdentifier AS OBJECT
(
IdDomain VARCHAR2(64),
IdValue VARCHAR2(32)
);

Still cannot find a way to make MagicDraw generate this.

Using MagicDraw with Cameo Data Modeler plug-in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

create StructuredUserDefinedType object from diagram toolbar or on your type apply <<StructuredUserDefinedType>> stereotype.

Kind regards,

Thank you, Paulius.
Is this stereotype available on logical data model?
I am using MagicDraw 17.0 with Cameo 16.8 plug-in and do not see this available. Which version was this feature introduced at?
Thank you again.

Sorry, this stereotype is available in 17.0.1 version of Cameo Modeler.
For 16.8 just add your type to Code Engineering set and it should be generated.

Kind regards,
