Refactoring Elements

Postby JBC_Navy_88 » Wed Nov 01, 2017 12:35 pm

Greetings,

I've created two new requirement stereotypes, "Starship_Reqs" & "Wormhole_Reqs".

I then added information in the "Start Location" and "End Location" fields of one of the Wormhole_Reqs.

Then, I attempted to refactor the Wormhole_Req into a Starship_Req.

The issue is that the information from the fields I populated before the attempt to refactor did not carry over into the new requirement.

Is there a way to preserve the data in the fields of an element when it gets refactored into a new element???

Hello,

As you changing one element to another and the second element does not have the same tag's, the information is lost.
You would need one common parent that has the tags that you need, so you could change one element to another.
