Should I merge TOGAF Project with ER Model?

Postby JaneRoberts » Tue Nov 01, 2011 7:08 am

We're using the Cameo Data Modeler plug-in and were going to just use MS Office products for our other TOGAF artifacts until I discovered the free TOGAF plug-in. Currently I have two Magic Draw Projects created, one for the ER Models (logical only) for the project and one for all the other TOGAF artifacts. I have a hyperlink from one to the other in the generated html.
I'd like some advice on whether I should try managing the artifacts in one merged Magic-Draw Project or will I find conflicts with the Plug-Ins?

Dear Jane,

You can use one project for both TOGAF and Cameo Data Modeler. There will be no conflicts.
It will also benefit you in ability to relate data entities with TOGAF elements in order to ensure the traceability for instance between logical application components from TOGAF and entities from Cameo Data Modeler.

Hope this helps.
