Trunk & Branch Merge with OV-5b Updates

I have two models (Trunk & Branch) to merge. Both models had updates made to same OV-5b View.
In each model a swimlane was added. The performers in the two models were different. IE’s and OA’s were added to the model. When the merge was completed all data was merged correctly however the swimlane from the branch model was not added to the merged view, however all data related to the swimlane is present in the containment tree.
I could not determine how to add the new swimlane even though it is represented in the containment tree. Hence I added a swimlane and the assigned the “Represents” property accordingly. I also displayed all Related Elements (using the views toggle button) And manually added all IE’s between the OA’s. I also deleted the merged representation of the swimlane. The attached document provides screen shots of this process.

Is there an easier way to accomplish this task?
